Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is looking for a professional with 3-7 years relevant experience to join the investment team responsible for managing the Microgrid Electrification Fund (MEF). MEF supports the transition from fossil fuels to renewable electricity by facilitating the development and construction of end-to-end microgrids and financing of these assets.
The team
You will be joining a small and newly formed investment team with an entrepreneurial and goal-oriented approach. The team is focused on realizing the potential in microgrids and electrification and this is an opportunity to contribute to this target.
The role
As Senior Associate/Manager you will play a key role in the execution of the fund strategy with direct impact on fund results. You will work closely with the rest of the investment team, including the Partner of the fund, with tasks related to originating, evaluating, executing and financing investment opportunities and risk management of the fund.

- Assessing new investment opportunities based on energy market dynamics and originating new investments
- Conducting financial analysis to evaluate and assess the risk of potential investments
- Preparation of investment memoranda for the fund’s Investment Committee
- On-going development of the fund model and analyzing the portfolio risk and return impacts of potential new investments, changes in the market environment etc.
- Managing the financing of the fund and participating in dialogue with financing counterparties
- Establishing solid relationships and working with relevant internal stakeholders
- Supporting colleagues in the investment team with preparation of analyses and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Key qualifications include:
- Understanding of renewable energy markets, infrastructure investments and energy transition trends
- 3-7 years of relevant experience with a background from an energy utility or project developer or from M&A/advisory, consultancy or private equity with a focus on the energy or renewable infrastructure sector
- Quantitative and analytical skills with acute attention to detail including financial modelling experience
- High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Written and verbal communication in English on a professional level
- Ability to manage responsibilities and work well in time-sensitive settings
