Upstream Technician - Biopharmaceutical Production
Are you a dedicated and detail-oriented technician with a passion for fermentation processes and quality? Do you have a background as a process operator, process technologist, or in a technical craft, and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment?
If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you to join our Upstream production.
AGC Biologics A/S is a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) within the biotech industry. We work on developing bio-pharmaceutical production processes as well as GMP production of bio-pharmaceutical proteins for both clinical trials and the market.
About The Role
You will join our production department, which comprises five production lines manufacturing pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial products for a diverse customer base.
Our team includes dedicated technicians and highly skilled academic professionals.
As a technician in our Microbial Upstream team, you will be responsible for daily planning and executing fermentation processes and ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Our production teams have a rotating shifts schedule, so flexibility to work outside standard/scheduled hours is required.

About The Role
You will join our production department, which comprises five production lines manufacturing pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial products for a diverse customer base.

As a technician in our Microbial Upstream team, you will be responsible for daily planning and executing fermentation processes and ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare room, equipment, and systems before and after production.
- Perform media preparation for fermentation processes.
- Preparation and inoculation of fermenters, both single-use and traditional steel tanks.
- Monitor and manually operate fermentation processes.
- Perform daily sampling and analysis.
- Set up and run CIP/SIP on equipment.
- Complete batch documentation and review it daily for accuracy and compliance.
- Report any safety incidents.
- Are trained as either a process operator, process technologist, or have experience in the industry.
- Have +3 years of experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry and have worked in a GMP environment.
- Have experience with fermentation process.
- Are interested in equipment and tool maintenance.
- Collaborate well and communicate constructively with colleagues across functions.
- Are proficient in English, both written and spoken, as all procedures and internal communication are conducted in English.
- You are a proactive and adaptable team player who enjoys taking on new challenges and responsibilities.
- You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and multiple tasks with confidence and a strong sense of initiative.
