Internship Opportunity: Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement - Drug Substance Manufacturing
Eligibility Requirement: Candidates must be currently enrolled in an educational program in Denmark and Receive ESCT points for the Internship. Preferably related to biopharmaceuticals, engineering, or a similar field to qualify for this internship. However, we consider enrolled candidate, no matter the education.
About the Role: We are seeking dedicated interns eager to gain hands-on experience in optimizing processes, facilitating workshops, analyzing data, creating dashboards, and supporting improvement initiatives within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to dynamic projects emphasizing LEAN, performance, and Shingo methodologies in Drug Substance Manufacturing.
While you'll have the autonomy to work independently, robust support and guidance are available whenever required, with a strong emphasis on mentoring during your initial month to ensure seamless integration and skill development.
We are looking for three interns, each bringing their unique strengths:
A Data-Oriented Intern to support analytics and reporting efforts. A Hands-On Shop Floor Intern to assist with on-ground activities and improvements. An All-Round and 3D Printing Enthusiast to contribute to prototyping and creative tasks.

- Workshop Facilitation: Collaborate with teams to plan and facilitate workshops aimed at process improvement.
- Data Analysis & Dashboard Creation: Utilize Alteryx to build robust data sources and develop dashboards and apps in Tableau and Power Apps.
- Improvement Projects: Lead and execute projects focused on continuous improvement and systematic problem-solving.
- Problem-Solving & Kaizen Activities: Participate in activities to identify and solve operational challenges, enhancing efficiency.
- Performance Metrics: Contribute to the development and refinement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Culture Promotion: Advocate for Continuous Improvement (CI) culture across the manufacturing site.
- Performance Board Support: Assist and/or facilitate performance board meetings focusing on operational excellence.
- LEAN Tools Application: Gain proficiency in applying LEAN tools such as 5S, 3C, and PDCA to real-world scenarios.
- Visual Workplace Initiative: Contribute to efforts making operations more human-centric.
- Power Apps Development: Assist in building applications for housekeeping, on-call guide, etc.
- 3D Printing: Support prototyping efforts to streamline and enhance processes.
- Work Instruction Enhancement & Standardization: Participate in initiatives to simplify and improve documentation.
- Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Exposure: A comprehensive introduction to biopharmaceutical manufacturing, from Cell Culture to Downstream processes within a cGMP framework.
- CDMO Experience: Gain insights into the social, technical, and business context of working at a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization.
- Project Responsibility: Lead projects to familiarize yourself with LEAN tools, from stakeholder management to workshop facilitation.
- Open interest or academic background in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or process optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and visualization platforms like Alteryx, Tableau, and Power Apps.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. The working language is English.
- Passion for continuous improvement and learning.
