You will join a focused sustainability department consisting of three colleagues, and you will report directly to the Head of Sustainability. The team works collaboratively to ensure compliance with sustainability standards and regulations across our operations. You will also work closely with colleagues from other departments to facilitate the collection and communication of sustainability and greenhouse gas (GHG) data to our biomass customers. Our team plays a crucial role in upholding CM Biomass's commitment to environmental responsibility and supporting the company's mission in the renewable energy transition.


Certification and Compliance Specialist

As a Sustainability Specialist at CM Biomass, you will play a key role in ensuring our biomass products meet the highest sustainability standards in the industry. Your work will involve managing our certification systems, gathering and analyzing greenhouse gas data, and supporting due diligence processes that maintain our reputation for environmental responsibility. You will collaborate with clients and team members to address both standardized and custom sustainability requirements while contributing to continuous improvement of our certification management systems.


More specifically, your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the daily operation of our SBP, FSC, and PEFC chain of custody certification systems
  • Collaborating with key clients to gather and analyze greenhouse gas and sustainability data
  • Maintaining and improving certification management systems, including planning and coordinating internal and external audits

Environmental Knowledge with Proficient Data Skills

We are looking for a detail-oriented environmental professional who combines sustainability knowledge with advanced analytical capabilities. You thrive in an environment where precision matters and where your skills contribute directly to our company’s sustainability goals. You show initiative in identifying improvements and enjoy working in an international setting with diverse stakeholders.


Additionally, you have the following qualifications:

  • You hold an M.Sc. or equivalent in environmental engineering, environmental science, forestry, or another natural resource management subject. Perhaps you are a recent graduate
  • You possess proficient skills in Excel, data management, and Business Intelligence tools
  • You are fully proficient in English, with additional language skills in either Polish or French considered an advantage
  • You have knowledge of or interest in greenhouse gas calculations (LCAs) and EU energy politics (RED II/RED III)
  • You demonstrate effective organizational abilities and creative problem-solving skills
