About The Role
As the Head of Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing our Group Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, including principles, policies, and standards, and associated controls.
Reporting to the CTO and collaborating with business unit CIOs / COOs, you will establish & lead a high-performing team, working in partnership with tribe architects and technology strategy representatives to develop and govern our technology strategy, and implement the associated enterprise architecture and associated controls.
Collaborating with the CTO, COO organisation, and various technology strategy representatives, you will lead a team of Enterprise Architects and Strategy Consultants to ensure that our architecture encompasses all aspects of technology, from infrastructure services to business process applications.
You will drive innovation to enhance business processes and customer experiences and represent Danske Bank in industry forums.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership and Team Development
Build, develop and lead a team of skilled and experienced technology strategists and enterprise architects.
Cultivate an engineering-first culture, significantly upscaling the bank’s technical capabilities and fostering a collaborative environment.
Represent the bank in relevant industry forums, collaborations and conferences
Strategy and Architecture Development
Establish and manage the Group Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, including the development of associated principles, policies, standards, catalogues, design patterns, etc.
Ensure the architecture encompasses all aspects of technology, including infrastructure services, business process applications, emerging intelligence services, and end-user technology.
Establish & Chair Enterprise Architecture & Design Authority
Federated Operating Model
Implement processes and controls for a federated operating and organisational model to manage technology strategies and architecture effectively.
Coordinate with multiple tribe architects and technology strategy representatives to ensure consistency and coherence in technology practices.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with the CTO, CIO, COO organisation, and technology management committee to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
Engage with stakeholders, including technology business managers, finance, and transformation office, to support the implementation and delivery of the technology strategy.
Innovation and Capability Building
Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies, enhancing business processes and improving customer experiences.
Upscale engineering capabilities across the bank, promoting a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Governance and Compliance
Establish governance & control frameworks to ensure effective management of technology assets and adherence to principles, policies, and standards.
About You
We are looking for a strategic thinker with extensive experience in senior technology leadership roles within the financial services sector. You should have proven expertise in developing technology strategy and enterprise architecture, alongside strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead high-performing teams. Your analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with your collaborative approach, will drive transformational outcomes across the organisation.
Qualifications, Skills And Competencies
10-15 years’ experience in a relevant technology role.
Extensive senior technology leadership experience, ideally within financial services, with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability in crafting and executing technology strategies and enterprise architecture across diverse service families (e.g., security, applications, infrastructure, intelligence, data, cloud, etc.).
Strategic thinker capable of aligning business and technology goals and facilitating discussions on technology strategy and enterprise architecture.
Demonstrated experience in driving transformative outcomes, supported by rigorous program management, change management, and communication skills.
In-depth understanding of technology and operations requirements in regulated industries (e.g., DFSA, GDPR).
Skilled in building high-performing teams and nurturing an engineering-first culture, with experience in federated operating models and collaborative organisational structures.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Get-things-done profile, eager to learn, and always finding a way around obstacles
MSc degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
