HR Legal Consultant
COWI

Are you ready to apply your expertise in a globally recognized consulting firm, focused on creating value for clients, communities, and employees worldwide? We are seeking a skilled and experienced HR Legal Consultant to join our Labour Relations Team on a temporary basis as maternity cover. This is a unique opportunity to join COWI and contribute to impactful HR legal advisory in an international environment.
Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
As a HR Legal Consultant, you will play a vital role in supporting our business through expert advisory and administrative services within labour relations. You will provide comprehensive guidance on a wide range of employment matters, including legislation, contracts, compensation structures, and internal policies. Additionally, you will contribute to both local and global HR projects, ensuring alignment with best practices and legal requirements. The role is anchored within the Group HR function in Lyngby and reports to Reena Singh Justsen, Head of Labour Relations and Mobility.
In this role, you will become a key member of our global HR legal team, partnering closely with experienced professionals and internal stakeholders across the business. Your work will be meaningful and engaging, providing legal support in an evolving yet supportive environment that encourages continuous learning and professional development.
Key responsibilities will be to
- Provide legal advice on labour relations matters, including long-term illness, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Advise on employment and executive contracts
- Ensure legal compliance in internal policies (e.g., Holiday Act, COVID-related regulations, parental leave)
- Manage and support projects aimed at updating and developing policies and labour relations processes
- Engage with employee representatives and COWI's staff association (CMU)
Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to thrive in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
On top of that, you will have:
- Master of Laws degree (Cand.jur. or equivalent)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally within labour law or employment law
- Knowledge of employment legislation, contracts, dismissals, salary reviews, and related HR matters
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to translate legal complexity into practical advice
- Fluency in both Danish and English, written and spoken
- Experience or interest in international employment law and GDPR
- Experience developing policies and guidelines, and managing HR-related projects
