Senior Enterprise Risk Manager

European Energy

Dato: for 3 uger siden
By: København, Region Hovedstaden
Kontrakttype: Fuld tid

As our new Senior Enterprise Risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening European Energy’s resilience through proactive, strategic risk management. You will work across a wide range of business areas with various stakeholders and be able to put your mark on how we work with Enterprise Risk Management in the future.

European Energy is a green company with exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our six core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your new team

You will be a part of quite a diverse department. Group Risk Management & Insurance covers everything from insurance to claims and contingency/emergency response strategies, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and Risk Transfer. Thinking ahead and ensuring the most sustainable, safe, and continuous way of business possible is what connects all of our different fields.

As a cross functional department, we work with almost all departments in the company – because our expertise and areas of work affect everything and everyone. Our goal is to create solid synergies, and we insist on constantly improving through evaluations and lessons learned.

We are five colleagues in the team, four of us based in Copenhagen and one in the UK. We support each other across specialist areas, and we like to have a good laugh.

Your new role

As our new Senior Enterprise Risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening European Energy’s resilience through proactive, strategic risk management. You will be responsible for fostering a strong risk culture across the organisation, ensuring risk considerations are an integral part of investment and business decision-making, and implementing mitigation strategies that protect our revenue, reputation, and long-term value.

You will work across a wide range of business areas, collaborating with Risk Champions embedded in departments such as Project Development, Finance, Treasury, People & Culture, Communications and more. You will lead the facilitation of Risk Committee meetings, where key enterprise risks are discussed, challenged, and escalated as needed. Additionally, you will prepare and present enterprise risk summaries and updates to Executive Management and the Board of Directors, providing clear insights that inform strategic decisions.

Since 2023, we have established a ERM program with support from senior leadership and key stakeholders. You will be joining an organisation where there is still room for further development, innovation, and optimization, and where you get a unique opportunity to shape risk management in a global, fast-growing renewable energy company.

Your areas of responsibility include

  • You maintain and continuously enhance the ERM Policy and Framework, including the Group Risk Appetite and associated risk management processes.
  • You support and engage with over 15 Risk Champions across multiple departments by providing guidance, tools, and training to identify, assess, and manage risks, particularly ahead of quarterly reporting deadlines.
  • You plan, coordinate, and facilitate quarterly Risk Committee meetings, ensuring discussion of top enterprise risks, mitigation strategies, and an updated risk landscape overview.
  • You prepare and deliver high-quality quarterly executive risk summaries for key stakeholders, including Executive Management and the Board of Directors.
  • You draft and contribute to the ERM section of EE’s Annual Report, ensuring accurate, clear, and compliant external disclosure of the Group’s risk management approach and principal risks.

You will thrive in this position, if:

  • You exceed at people skills and get a kick out of working with people at all levels across the organisation.
  • You accept that some things take longer to achieve, and can keep up the spirit and pace, even when it seems like the work isn’t progressing.
  • You enjoy facilitating meetings and workshops, challenge assumptions, and foster open dialogue regarding severe risks.
  • You have analytical skills with the ability to identify key risk drivers, evaluate complex information, and present clear, actionable insights.
  • You have a proactive approach to risk management with a focus on continuous improvement of the entire program.
  • You take responsibility and like to run with tasks independently.

To succeed in the role, we expect:

  • You have a relevant bachelor and/or master’s degree in risk management.
  • You have proven experience working in an Enterprise Risk Manager position in a global company.
  • You have a strong understanding of ERM standards and best practices, e.g. ISO31000, COSO Framework etc.
  • You are experienced in facilitating risk committee meetings or supporting risk governance processes at the senior management and/or board level.
  • You have strong stakeholder management abilities with proven experience engaging with senior leaders, board members, and cross-functional teams.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can speak effectively in front of a big group of stakeholders.
