On behalf of our client – an international group based in Copenhagen – we are looking for an experienced Group Finance Director to lead and develop the group finance function.
About the job
As Group Finance Director, you will play a decisive role in supporting the growth ambitions of the business by creating standardised processes and a high level of financial insight by developing and aligning the transactional accounting, controlling, statutory, tax and treasury processes.
You will report directly to – and be a valuable sparring partner to – the Group CFO, just as you will be for all tax, annual or general reporting questions from the entities.
The role
You will be responsible for daily operations and for driving continuous improvements, including the development, implementation and maintenance of reliable financial controls, reports, and processes.
More specifically, your responsibility will be wide and cover all disciplines from month-end closing, monthly reporting and consolidation to annual group reporting, cash flow management and input to board meetings. The role also includes engagement in M&A and cross-functional projects as a sparring partner within the accounting area.
As Group Finance Director, you will create value by securing a high level of transparency within your scope to impact positively on business performance and support decision-making within the company’s governance framework.
Key responsibilities
Main responsibilities and tasks will include, but not be limited to:
- Leading, developing and engaging with international teams
- Monthly financial group reporting and consolidation processes, ensuring consistent and accurate financial reporting across all entities
- Responsibility for the group annual report, including reconciliations to the auditor and coordination of external audits
- Responsibility for tax, VAT, and transfer pricing documentation
- Driving the budget for group functions
- Ensuring compliance with international accounting standards (local GAAP, IFRS and group standards)
- Developing and maintaining robust internal controls, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and streamlining processes.
Your profile
- Master's degree in Auditing or Accounting or other relevant education
- +10 years of relevant experience
- Strong accounting toolbox and solid knowledge of local accounting principles
- Solid knowledge of VAT, tax, and TP
- Preferably experience with financial leadership from an international setting
- Interest in and experience structuring, building, and driving processes
- Great people and stakeholder skills.
As a person you are a team player and can manage through a middle-manager. You are hands-on and have an eye for detail, while at the same time being able to maintain an overview of the company’s overall operations and development.
You are driven and a strong communicator and are motivated by making a difference. You take responsibility for bringing things forward and developing the agenda.
