Become part of a team creating innovative low power audio chipsets that enhance individuals' lives.
We know sound
At GN Hearing, we are known for great sound quality, design and technology excellence, as well as meaningful solutions that help people with hearing challenges rediscover hearing.
At GN Hearing, our work on integrating BLE audio into hearing aids is supported by our partnership with Jabra, resulting in next-generation products such as “Jabra Enhance Plus.”. At the headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark, you will join the IC team that develops chipsets and creates innovative ASIC designs all the way from initial ideas to final ICs.
Design of the GN Hearing chipsets
In the GN Hearing IC team, we are responsible for developing the ultra-low power chipset which is at the heart of our hearing devices, and improves the quality of life for people of all ages, through enhanced hearing.
We are looking for a “Senior Processor Development Engineer” to join our digital IC team, where you will play a vital role from initial requirements to silicon for the low-power chipsets we design, consistently enhancing the technology.
As “Senior Processor Development Engineer”, you will be responsible for interfacing between CTO, SW architects and the IC development team, to ensure that our processors are optimized for performance and power at all levels, from SW architecture and DSP model implementation to IC physical layout.
Your focus will be to support the existing processor models and manage the processor architecture design and model verification of future generations of processors. This includes supporting our cross-site SW teams with tools like the compiler, assembler, linker, application layer (C/C++) along with the related documentation.
Part of your responsibility will be to test and benchmark our DSP against the competition and in different scenarios, to advise how to develop the architecture in the future.
As a “Senior Processor Development Engineer”, you will collaborate closely with our Algorithm team and System Engineers to transform their requirements into a high-performance, low-power processor and keep focus on the system performance optimizing both SW and HW performance. This involves analyzing our algorithms, to carefully design the DSP for maximum performance and low-power specifically for selected user scenarios, e.g., by identifying custom instructions tailored for our algorithms and implementing them in the DSP core and building a compiler to optimize algorithm performance using these custom instructions.
To thrive in this role, you will need substantial experience in the following areas:
At GN we value your open personality and your skilled interpersonal and communicational skills. You thrive on cooperation and feedback, and you come with a strong personal motivation. You like to make many stakeholders succeed as a team and you have high professional integrity and really good communication skills.
MSc in SW or Computer Science and a minimum 5 years of work experience. Through your work, you have acquired a solid background in software programming and embedded systems. You understand how to optimize the performance of the assembler instructions from a solid understanding of the interaction between C/C++ source code and the compiler. Further, it is an advantage if you have experience with the interface between the low-level SW and the HW as well as experience with digital IC design, to ensure that the DSP architecture allows for low power implementation of memory, instruction pipeline and possible co-processors.
Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have previous experience within the following areas depending on your seniority:
In the IC team, you will join a large group of specialist development engineers of all seniorities. We combine our talents to make life sound better through innovative low power chipsets. We work well together and continuously inspire each other to bring forward the best results. Becoming a member of this skilled team of specialists, you get to bring your expertise and experience in digital design into play and develop your skills in multiple areas of IC design.
In addition, GN offers an active career development and social activities in the company’s numerous clubs, such as soccer, photography, brewing beer or skiing.
We encourage you to apply
Even if you don’t match all the above-mentioned skills, we will gladly receive your application if you think you have transferrable skills. We highly value a mindset, motivation, and energy, that aligns with our core values, to not only ensure success for you, but for your team and the wider GN organization as well.
We are dedicated to an inclusive recruitment process and all applicants will receive equal consideration for employment.
