The FLW market has been identified as a significant growth opportunity for the business. The ongoing drive for efficiency in organizations and the digitalization of frontline work is driving a need for better collaboration and productivity tools such as AI. We fundamentally believe voice will be the main interface to these tools, and we know we at GN are uniquely positioned to provide truly innovative products to this exciting growth market. This role will be central to that innovation journey.

You will join the newest vertical, being run in an incubation fashion. Meaning a lot to prove, and a lot to win. With dedicated and focused teams, with its own R&D arm to support.

Driver of new Product Strategy and Roadmap

As our “Head of Product - Frontline Worker”, you will be responsible for defining, initiating, and developing new product solutions. You will be central to the success of Frontline Worker and BlueParrott product lines, through product leadership and driving the roadmap. You will be in close collaboration with business management, sales, and R&D to drive the strategy.

The role is part of the Product Management function, but will also be part of the FLW leadership team contributing to the strategic direction of this key growth area for GN

The perfect candidate is an equal mix of product making, business understanding, collaboration, and fortitude.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manages a small team of product managers and ensures day-to-day leadership, mentoring/coaching, defining roles and responsibilities and drives recruitment.
  • Executes functional and individual objectives of own department and manages budget for area of responsibility.
  • Proactively drive understanding of our users’ & customers’ pains/needs, ecosystem and market opportunities as well as our competition
  • Translate insights and trends into desirable, innovative and differentiated experiences for our next generation of products
  • Independently drive product vision, strategy and roadmap work aligned to company
  • Drive large and complex New Product Development programs together with R&D to deliver great products
  • Accountable for balancing experiences, value (cost / business case), quality and timeline.
  • Independently driving strategic projects and commercial evaluations of new opportunities
  • Influence and manage stakeholders on all levels in GN and with partners
  • Closely collaborate with various functions within Global Marketing, R&D, Business Management, Support, Operations and more to ensure products are performing in market
  • Setting the bar for communicating and inspiring others on all levels of the company.
  • Define and role model way-of-working incl. working within the required product development processes
  • Advocate for end-user and customer; develop and integrate experiences they will desire
  • Accountability for the experiences and cost in the product and the business case. Presenting and selling in, product outcome and recommendation to senior management, including CEO.

What we believe you'll need to succeed in the role

  • You are a natural leader with genuine excitement for (consumer electronic) products
  • You have a good market understanding and interest
  • Inventor mindset – problems are good and strong competition is motivating
  • Stamina – product making is tough, usually all the way through to launch
  • You possess a high level of ambition and proactiveness, and the ability to inspire the people around you to deliver results.
  • Comfortable being part of a smaller org, nested in a broad (matrix) organization.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills - you work comfortably across qualitative and quantitative domains and can distill a well-thought-through and well-articulated direction for complex product and experience challenges.
  • Strategic thinker. Can formulate high level strategies, that are applicable at all levels – that drive organizational buy-in and success
  • Global collaboration is familiar territory.
  • You understand diplomacy: When to stand, when push and when bend.
  • You understand the art of the possible.
  • You have experience in product management, preferably in a closely related field (e.g. Consumer Electronics, Mobile) and in an international working environment.
  • Proven experience with developing products that support strategic outlines
  • Solid technical and commercial background with understanding and hands-on experience in product development projects
  • At home in Powerpoint and Excel Excellent
  • English written and verbal communication skills
  • You likely have a Master's degree in engineering or Business Administration.
  • You likely have 10 years of relevant experience

We imagine that as a person you are independent and outgoing, and you have a quality-conscious and structured/analytical approach to your work but also embrace an execution, decision-making, and project management role if required. Furthermore, you are a team player with the ability to motivate your stakeholders.

You will be based in our HQ in Ballerup (Copenhagen), Denmark. And will report to the VP of Product & Portfolio, Headset Business Unit.

Travel activity of up to 30 days per year is to be expected.
