We're looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our fantastic team in Esbjerg.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Quality Manager and working alongside the Quality Assurance and the Quality Control team the primary focus of this role will be to strengthen the food safety management system to ensure it encompasses all requirements of the retailer COPs, Standards, BRC, IFS - to ensure we are audit ready every day.

The Quality Assurance Specialist will assist in leading and coordinating the site's FSQ & QMS systems and projects as well as the site behavioral programme.

You will work closely with:

Internal: Production, R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Management Teams to maintain compliance and improve processes.

External: Suppliers, Auditors, and Regulatory Bodies to ensure all quality and food safety standards are met.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct inspections, testing, and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards (GMP, HACCP, and other food safety regulations).
  • Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues proactively.
  • Maintain and update quality documentation and records to support compliance and traceability.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure raw materials meet required quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing for third-party audits, regulatory inspections and factory visits.
  • Develop, Implement and maintain the food safety management system.
  • Review of all customer COPs to ensure compliance and responds to any customer alerts.
  • Keeps "Block out dates" up to date for any potential unannounced customer audits.
  • Manage compliance to BRC/IFS standards and the C&D Foods Quality Management System.
  • Completion of gap analysis.
  • Member of Internal Audit, Traceability and HACCP teams.
  • Ensure all audit non conformances (internal/ External) are robustly closed in accordance with the agreed timelines.
  • Know and understand raw material supplier approval and control process, procedure and documentation.
  • Manage the document control process for the food safety management system.
  • Work closely with other members of the Quality Department to achieve the Key quality Objectives of the site.
  • Input the site quality KPIs weekly.
  • Track Quality performance for the site.
  • Drive Quality Improvement projects and identify areas of opportunity for business improvement.
  • To work with all areas of the business to assist quality improvement.
  • Support the Isolated/ Held Stock investigations and Corrective actions when required.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or diploma in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Min. 5 years of experience in quality assurance within food manufacturing business (pet food experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and testing methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with QA software is an advantage.
