Job Description
As a global company with an organisation spanning multiple countries and customers in the financial sector, compliance is essential to all the work we do in SimCorp. SimCorp is currently undergoing a process to further mature our compliance set-up, which brings more complex tasks across topics such as AML, sanctions, data privacy and market abuse.
As our new Compliance Counsel, you will be working in Copenhagen as part of our Group Legal and Compliance team. The team is responsible for providing legal advice on a broad range of topics. While the colleagues in Legal are focusing on our contracts, the Compliance organisation focuses on developing and maintaining a robust framework for regulatory compliance and assisting the organisation stay compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Compliance in a global organisation
As our new Compliance Counsel, you will work closely together with the existing Compliance team to develop, implement and oversee our compliance framework. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and guide employees at all levels to ensure the organization stay compliant.
This role also offers a great opportunity to contribute to your own role based on your experience and interests within compliance.
Other responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with risk assessments to identify compliance risks across various business functions
  • Developing internal training programs, including both e-learning and face-to-face training on relevant compliance topics
  • Collaborate closely together with internal stakeholders to shape our compliance framework to the business
  • Maintain policies on relevant topics, and ensure consistent application of those policies across the organisation
  • Participate in activities to regularly monitor compliance activities across the organisation, and assess their effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities
Your Qualifications
As our preferred candidate you:
  • Have a degree in law or commercial law
  • Have experience with relevant compliance topics, such as market abuse, sanctions, data protection, etc. – and are curious to learn about those topics, you might be less familiar with
  • Have good analytical skills with attention to details
  • Have advanced English communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Have a good understanding of commercial issues and can balance the need for sound business advice with the need to maintain a high standard of advice
Effective performance in this position is often linked to a solid capability of engaging with others and a notable penchant for humour.

The role allows for flexibility including the option to work from home up to 3 days a week.
